HUNT DEFEATED
NO MATCH FOR BROMWICH AUSTRALIAN BELOW FORM U.S.A. TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS (Recd This Day, 12.10 p.m.) FOREST HILLS, September 15. Results in the American lawn tennis championships today were as follow: — Men’s Singles: J. Bromwich (Australia) defeated J. Hunt (U.S.A.), 6/1, 9/11, 6/3, 6/4. Bromwich played far from his best owing to the humid atmosphere, but Hunt was no match for him.
Ladies’ Singles: Miss D. Bundy defeated Mme R. Mathieu (France) 6/3, 3/6, 6/0. The American’s forcing game nullified any attempt by Mme Mathieu to outmanoeuvre her.
