KIATERE CLUB’S ACTIVITIES SEASON TO CLOSE TOMORROW The Kiatere Harrier Club will officially close the season’s activities tomorrow. The final 'run will be a four mile open handicap race for a silver cup presented by Mr Basil Falloon. The run will be held over a two lap course commencing from the Solway Showgrounds at 2.30 p.m. sharp. After the run afternoon tea will be served in tne Arcade Hall and will be followed by the presentation of trophies won throughout the season. In the evening a dance will be held in the Arcade Hall.

MASTERTON CLUB. FIELD DAY TOMORROW. Tomorrow's outing for the Masterion Club members will take the form of a field day. Races are to be held over 100yds, 220yds, 880yds. 1 mile and a slow 100yds. Cameron Cup points will count for any four of these events. Handicaps will be declared on the grounds by the handicapper, Mr J. J. Hunter. There will be trophies for Ist and 2nd for aggregate points. The first event is timed to start at 2.30. There' will also be an open handicap of 21 miles for junior members of the club, there also being trophies in this event. An anonymous donor has given a cup to be competed for by the junior members. The conditions are the cup shall go to the junior who gains the most points in the next three races on September 17, 24 and October 1. Next Saturday’s race for the 5-mile Club Championship, which carries with in the Wyeth Cup, will also be the last race in which the Shaw rose bowl points will count. The following are the leaders to date in this competition: I Shaw, 32 points; G. Frederickson, 31 points; C. Ross, 29 points; J. Haise, 28 points; G. Gregory, 26J points.
