Mrs Dalgleish; Miss Peters v. Mrs Forbes; Mrs Riggs v. Miss Hamer; Miss Steven v. Miss J. Orr. Mrs B. Booth and Miss Campbell will be in charge of tea. Personal. Mr Alan Harp, of the staff of the ironmongery department of the W.F.C.A. Ltd., has received notice of his transfer to the Masterton branch. Meeting of Oddfellows. A meeting was held at Carterton last evening and. was presided over by P.G. Bro G. S. Bruce. There were also present Bros R. Baikie and W. A. Palmer (Masterton), C. E. White and H. J. Rathbone (Carterton), A. R. Tankersley and A. J. Lindop (deputies for Loyal Unity, Featherston) and the secretary of Past Grands Lodge of Oddfellows, Manchester Unity (Bro C. J.“De Lacey). The meeting was called for the purpose of making arrangements for entertaining' members of the Wellington Past Grands Lodge and other Wellington lodges on Saturday, October 1. It was decided that the function be held in Loyal Masterton lodge room and that the visitors be given a welcome by the President of Past Grands Lodge. The programme arranged is to include vocal items, speeches by the President of the Wellington P.G. Lodge, Wellington District Grand Master, the Grand Secretary (Bro A. G. Shrimpton),. cards, indoor bowls and table tennis. The function will commence at 7.30 o’clock,, and the Masterton Lodge is to be asked to arrange and supervise the supper which will be paid for by the various lodges. Wind Storm. A very heavy wind storm was experienced in Carterton yesterday and motorists found it very difficult at times to keep their machines on the road. Although the wind blew with terrific force there does not seem to have been any serious damage done.
