HARRIER ACTIVITIES
N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS WON BY WELLER (By Telegraph —Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, September 10. For the third time in succession the Palmerston North runner, C. D. Weller, representing the West Coast (North Island) Amateur Athletic Centre, won the New Zealand cross-country championship, which was decided over a six-and-a-quarter-mile course at New Plymouth today. Otago retained the teams’ championship won at Timaru last year.
DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP. WIN FOR MACDONALD. The 10-miles Wairarapa Championship was run on Saturday at Masterton, the result being:—W. Macdonald (Kiatere), time 57.55, 1; W. Burgess (Kiatere), 58.3, 2; G. Gregory (Masterton), 58.15, 3; R. Shaw (Masterton), 59.8, 4.
