LADIES’ GOLF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the draw for Saturday:— Semi-finals, junior championship: Mrs Welch v Miss Lamb, Mrs Booth v Miss Campbell. The following are to play a Stableford Bogey round in fours, 3 handicap: Mrs B. Booth and Mrs Murray, Mrs Moon and Miss Callander, Miss Berrill and Mrs Ross, Mrs Orr and Miss Smart, Mrs Brown and Mrs Riggs, Mrs Forbes and Miss Corlett, Miss Armstrong and Mrs Robison, Miss Peters and Miss Stevens, Miss Freer and Miss Orr, Miss V. Corlett and Miss Hamer. '/ Mrs Moon and Mrs Murray will be in charge of the tea arrangements. Foresters Lodge. The members of the Court Marquis of Normanby A.O.F. met last evening in Carterton, Bro S. Fisher, C.R., presiding. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Bro J. G. McDonald, who died recently. A vote of sympathy was also extended to Bro T. G. Groube, of Greytown, in the death of his wife. A clearance was granted to a brother to a Napier Court, subject to all dues being paid. A brother from Taumarunui intimated he was desirous of being transferred to the Court Marquis of Normanby, and the necessary procedure is to be gone through, to enable the clearance to be made on quarter night. The meeting decided that quarter night be on Wednesday evening, September 28. Funeral. The funeral of the late Mrs lan Hector, of Brooklyn and Carterton, took place yesterday afternoon at the Clareville cemetery, in the presence of a large number of mourners. Some very beautiful floral tributes were sent by sympathisers. The pall-bear-ers were Messrs W. Steven, R. P. Wakelin, A. Adams, A. Conwell, C. Fitzgerald and Arthur Ingley. The burial service was read by the Rev R. Byers, Presbyterian minister.
