| The Y.M.C.A. Cup competition for ■billiards and snooker will be continued tonight, when Daniells will play Y.M.C.A. B. Next Tuesday night, Y.M.C.A. A will mopt Pioneers. Political Standards. A statment contained in the “Standard” newspaper was referred to by Mr S. G. Holland (Opposition, Christchurch North), in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr Holland gave notice to ask the Prime Minister whether his attention had been drawn to a contributed article in the “Standard,” the official organ of the Labour Party, of September 1, 1938, containing the following passage: “The days are numbered now and will swiftly pass until in November next the opposing hosts will meet in New Zealand’s Armageddon, which will decide her future destiny, and to her people shall be given the opportunity to make their fateful decision. What shall their answer be? Shall it be Christ or Barabbas, Savage or Hamilton, the Saviour or the Thief?” “Does the Prime Minister approve of the publication of such articles?” asked Mr Holland, “and, if not, what steps does he propose to take to prevent their publication?”
