HAUNUI CROQUET CLUB. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Haunui Croquet Club held a euchre tournament on Monday. The prize winners were:—Mrs Barker, 1; Mrs Charles, 2; consolation, Mrs Dean Burt. Mrs Barker won the aggregate and Mrs McKenna the consolation prize. Motor Accident. Mr J. J. Perfect, Cross Creek, had a narrow escape from serious injuries a few days ago, when the car he was driving overturned, said to have , been caused by the state of the road. Mr Perfect received bruises and the car was slightly damaged. School Duties Commenced. Mr Hayes, the newly appointed head master of the Featherston School, in succession to Mr H. E. Pendergrast, arrived from the West Coast, South Island, last week and began duties yesterday.
