The “Daily Telegraph’s” Shanghai correspondent says that the weekend fighting resulted in the first direct threat to the Chinese headquarters in Hankow. The Chinese are throwing reinforcements into bitter conflicts on all fronts. The Japanese, in a fanlike formation, are attacking at three points on the north and south banks of YangtseKiang, namely, Kwangtsi, which is stoutly held, and also Mahweiling and Wusieh.
