Japanese report that they penetrated Chinese defences at Teian, the Chinese fleeing in disorder. Japanese also are nearing Kwangtsi, on the north bank of the Yellow River. Chinese claim an offensive flinging back the Japanese in northern Honan. The Japanese forces north of ihe Yangtze River report the capture of HochangsWh, east of Kwangtsi, states a Tokio message. The Japanese claim to have trapped over 100,000 Chinese in the Lushan mountains.
