At the Newcastle races on Saturday the following was the result of the Newcastle Cup, King Gee 7.9 (James) 1; Jocular 8.3 (Knox) 2; Perimond 8.1 (Hughes) 3. Sixteen started, including Cerne Abbas and Allunga. Head-; length and a half. Cerne Abbas finished second to last. Time, 2.14. Novice Handicap, first division. — Lion Hunt, 9.0 (Davidson) 1; Some Boy, 8.10 (Reynolds) 2; Glorious, 7.7 (Hayes) 3. Five started. One length and a half. Time, 1.81. Trainer F. D. Jones states that .no definite programme has yet been ranged for Royal Chief, who at pi esent is high in the Metropolitan market.
