TREATMENT OF SKIN
AN EXTERNAL METHOD. Your skin will also require external treatments. Each morning wash the face well with warm water and a good soap, then rinse all the soap thorough--ly from the skin, dry well, and dab a little lotion over the face, using a small piece of cottonwool for this purpose. The cottonwool should never be used more than once. Much skin infection is carried by using beauty aids which are dirty, and pimples and qthe blemishes are spread over the face. Screen stars are popularly credited with using many beauty preparations, but the following hint is one which a well-known. actress has used, and which is regarded as very good. Each night you drop a teaspoonful of cornflour into a glassful of water, and, without stirring or mixing in any way, you allow the glass to stand to one side until the morning, when you strain the sediment away from the water, and then, on an empty stomach, drink the strained water. Since tfye cold winds of winter have a very drying effect on the skin, it will be justas well if you apply a little nourishing cream to your skin every night, thus removing much of the harshness which has been acquired during the winter months. From your chemist you should procure a skin balm, such as honey and almond cream, and this should be applied to the skin immediately after washing, so that the skin will be kept soft and creamy, and will not chap during the changeable spring weather.
