Lord Mayors’ chains across their fronts or round their necks. Chanel shows a range of heavy baroque effects in gold metal, the links cast to represent Benini cherubim, inspaced with sentimental motifs, such as joined hands, lovers’ knots, etc. Hatpins in gold metal with faceted knobs. Also gold. metal hair prongs with round or faceted knobs. Make-up bracelets in gold metal with a wide, domed back concealing powder compact, lipstick, mascara, and rouge. Wet weather top-boots in creped rubber in vivid colours —green, yellow, red, white. Nightdresses in satin jersey of marabou in pastel shades. Large chiffon evening handkerchiefs printed all over in a fine lace design. Tiger-lilly heads instead of orchids for formal occasions.
