WAIRARAPA SEAT
MEETING AT KAHAUTARA LAST NIGHT. MR J. F. THOMPSON ADDRESSES ELECTORS. In spite of the unfavourable weather there was a large attendance of electors in the Kahautara Hall last evening, when a political address was given by Mr J. F. Thompson, National Party candidate for the Wairarapa seat. Mr Corlet resided. Mr Thompson, who was well received, referred to the heavy burden of taxation imposed on the farmer and to the effect of recent legislation in the farming community. The social security scheme, district public works and the problem of flooding and drainage in the Wairarapa Lake area were also touched upon. ' Mr Thompson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
