Essex, first innings, 553 (Avery 138, O’Connor 83, Nichols-159). Gloucester, first innings, 97 (Nichols, 9 for 37), second innings, 391 (Barnett 151, Crapp 89). Essex won by an innings and 65 runs. . Kent, first, innings, 84 (Voce, 7 for 39; second innings, 122 (Voce, 6 for 53). Notts, first innings, 133 (Watt, 5 for 33); second innings, 0 for 74. Notts won fry ten wickets.
