UNABATED TERRORISM IN PALESTINE ARAB NOTABLE & OTHERS KILLED. POLICE ACTION AGAINST GANGS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 1. A cablegram from the High Commissioner of Palestine received at the Colonial Office today states that a Jaffa Arab notable was shot and killed by terrorists. Two Arabs were shot, one fatally, in the Old City of Jerusalem. Two Arab doctors were abducted from the Hebron area, but later returned unharmed. A Jewish constable was killed near Lydda in a bus by one of the passengers. In Haifa the police shot and killed a man known to be a terrorist, who, when challenged, had run away. They discovered and rendered harmless primitive bombs in other parts of the country. A man acting as a messenger for the terrorists was arrested, as were the occupants of a taxi in which a loaded revolver was found. Near the frontier, a terrorist post was attacked and the police are believed to have inflicted casualties on the gang. Isolated acts of sniping, sabotage and armed robbery continue throughout the country.
