LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET VERY FIRM Lamb market: Continues very firm and prices have further advanced. Consumption remains satisfactory in spite of home killed selling at equivalent our prices. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes meeting with better in*quiry, with lightweight wethers firmer. Beef market: Chilled beef slightly firmer this week owing to good demand. New Zealand porker pigs: Firm, with improved prices lightweights. New Zealand baconer pigs: Market quiet and unchanged. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board, which advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Compared with last week’s quotations, Down lambs 36/421bs and xbred lambs l-8d ner lb higher; 2nd quality lambs ud per lb higher; wethers under 481bs l-8d per lb higher; other quotations unchanged.
