GOLF COMPETITIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) A Stableford bogey handicap played last Saturday resulted as follows:— Senior: F. V. Rankine, score 24, handicap 11, total 35; S. W. Martin, 27, 7, 34; C. C. Moore, 25, 9, 34. Junior: K. D. Arthur, 20, 16, 36; M. S. Francis, 18, 15, 33. Handicap adjustment: K. D. Arthur, 21 to 18. The Martin Cup competition (best three of five cards to count) resulted as under: —K. D. Arthur, 89, 91, 87, 267, 66, 201; L. W. Frank, 84, 79, 79, 242, 33, 209; O. Grant, 107, 104, 98, 309, 96, 213; H. F. Harvey, 78, 76, 75, 229, 15, 214; J. T. L. Pike, 84, 83, 77, 244, 30, 214. Women’s Institute. In the absence of the president, Mrs Tyler presided over a fair attendance of members. A demonstration of floral work which was given by Mrs Scharnweber, was much appreciated. It was decided to hold a street stall for the sale of produce, cakes, etc., on September 15. The competition for the best posy of flowers or berries was won by Mrs Caseley, with Mrs S. Boyd second. The next meeting will be held in the Parish Hall on October 6.
