NEWCASTLE CUP MEETING. STURDEE WINS NOVICE HANDICAP. SYDNEY, September 1. At the Newcastle Cup meeting today the following was the result of the NOVICE HANDICAP, First Division. Sturdee, 9.0 (Munro) 1 Huntsman, 8.13 (Clinton) 2 Bonny Don, 8.2 (Mills) 3 Nine started, including Lion Hunt. . The chief event, the Cameron Handicap, one mile, was won by Perimond. The starters included Allunga.
JOCKEY’S SUCCESS. SEVEN SUCCESSIVE WINS. (Recd This Day, 10.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The jockey, Darby Munro, has now had seven successive winning mounts. He rode the winners of the last four races at Ascot on Wednesday and was successful in his three engagements at Newcastle yesterday.
