NAPIER HARBOUR
DISPUTE BETWEEN BOARD & COMPANY. APPREHENSIONS OF LOSS OF TRADE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, September 1. Principal interest in the dispute between the Napier Harbour'Board-and the Richardson Shipping Company centred today on the visit to, Port Ahuriri of the Secretary of . Marine, Mr L. B. Campbell, who is conducting investigations on behalf of the Marine Department. An air of uncertainty is evident in the port, and the possible outcome of the visit of Mr Campbell is the subject of almost universal conjecture. $ Mr Campbell viewed the bar to the inner harbour, which is the cause of I the dispute, and also conferred with the managers of branches of overseas shipping companies. The result of his findings will not be known until the whole matter is reviewed by the department and a report received. Residents of the port are somewhat apprehensive at the possible loss of trade by the use of the railway to Wellington. J
