THE REGENT

. “TRADER HORN.” “Trader Horn,” a fine African adventure film starring Harry Carey and Edwina Booth will screen finally tomorrow night at the Regent. “TEST PILOT.” Few pictures up to the standard of “Test Pilot,” which is to be shown at the Regent Theatre on Saturday have been screened in Masterton before. First and foremost it is an aviation thrill from start to finish, but it is much more than that. With the romance in the hands of Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy, and Lionel Barrymore, one can expect a good story and good acting, and expectations are fully realised. The story is roughly the old one of the triangle—a wife who is neglected for “the girl in the blue frocks in the sky” and who turns for consolation to one who is not her wedded husband. But, worked out among the miracles of modern aviation, the old story takes on a new guise. The picture will be a revelation to most New Zealanders of the progress of aviation in the United States during the last decade or so. “Test Pilot” is first and foremost a splendid romance with a decidedly dramatic flavour, beside being a thrilling epic of the air.
