MASTERTON SALE. FAT EWES MAINTAIN VALUES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their weekly Masterton sale as follows:—A fair yarding of all classes of stock came forward and attracted a medium attendance of buyers. Fat sheep maintained values on last week’s sale while hoggets (although the quality was not as good), made values slightly lower than those ruling of late. A total clearance was effected, and the following will indicate values: • —Good fat ewes, 17s to 17s. 6d; light unfinished ewes, 13s Bd, 14s to 14s Id; fat hoggets, 225; w.f. woolly w. hoggets, 19s; b.f. hoggets, 16s 4d, 16s 8d to 16s lOd. N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd report: A fail’ entry of sheep came forward yesterday and were submitted to a medium attendance of the local public. A- dull sale was experienced for store sheep. Prices offered in most cases were below the vendors’ ideas of value. A good entry of pigs came forward and met with a ready and keen sale. We quote: Fat Southdown ewes, 20s 6d; aged ewes in lamb, 12s; aged store ewes, 10s, 7s 9d; store cows ex dairy, £2. Pigs: Weaners, best, 255, 225, 19s; medium, 14s. F.C.D. COMPANY LTD. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op Distributing Co Ltd report: We offered good entries of fat and store sheep and a small yarding of cattle to the usual attendance. There was no improvement in fat sheep values. Hoggets were not in such keen demand and prices declined about 2s per head. The following are some of our realisations: Light ■ fat wethers, 235; fat lambs, 18s 6d to 22s 6d; prime fat ewes, 18s to 18s 6d; light, 13s 6d to 16s 9d; w.f.w. hoggets, 18s 7d to 20s; b.f. hoggets, 15s to 16s lOd; store ewes, 7s; store cows, £3 4s to £3 10s; weaner pigs, 19s 6d to 255. WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO LTD. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co Ltd report: A moderate yarding of sheep came forward at yesterday’s Masterton sale. The enquiry for fats was brisker than usual but prices did not appreciate much. Hoggets were easier. Odd lots of store ewes and wethers made late prices. We made a total clearance as under: Woolly w hoggets, 18s Id to 19s Id; b.f. hoggets, 15s sd, small do Ils 3d to 12s 6d; small w.f. hoggets, 12s 6d to 14s 6d; fat ewes, 15s-lOd to 16s 8d (light), 14s 3d to 14s 6d; fat hoggets, 24s Id.
