LAKE OUTLET CLOSED. (“Times-Age” Special.) As a result of the heavy seas during the weekend, the outlet of the lake has closed.- An attempt to open the lake will be made as soon as conditions are favourable. Euchre and Dance. Road Improvements. < A preliminary survey by the Highway Board’s surveyors is being made of that portion of the highway between Mr F. Percy’s residence and Otaraia. The road is to be considerably improved by the elimination of several bad bends. It is understood that the work will be put in hand before long. The oiling of the Burnside-Pirinoa section of the highway will be started as soon as conditions improve. At present grading work is being carried out. Personals. Mr Jim Tauraio, who . was recently admitted to the Greytown Hospital, is now progressing favourably towards recovery. Mr Trevor Tully, Greytown, has been the guest of Mr J. R. Tewhaiti for a few days. Mr Ned Lawton, Feilding, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Swainson, Lake Ferry.
