DAIRY COMPANY’S REPORT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following is the annual report of the Featherston Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., to be presented at the annual meeting tomorrow: —Cheese manufactured shows a decrease of 48 tons, being 783 tons as against 831 tons for last year. Butter manufactured shows an increase of 28 tons, being 235 tons as against 207 tons for last year. The estimated payout for last year for cheese suppliers was 14.1955 d; the final amount was 14.993 d. The estimated payout this year is 16.9596, being an increase over last year’s estimate of 2.7641 d, or nearly 3d. Average butter butterfat test, 3.951 (1937, 4.187); pounds of milk to cheese, 9.773 (1937, 9.673). Butter-making: Over-run creamery butter made 22.6 (1937, 20.6). A satisfactory aspect of the year’s work is the substantial increase of the percentages of cheese to pounds of milk, and the increase in the percentage of over-run in butter-making. Personals. Miss Nancy Carlyon, who had been spending her holidays at- home, left to resume her school duties at Tokaanu yesterday. Miss Connie Jeffrey left yesterday to take up. a position in Wellington. Mrs J. Gardener and Miss Atkinson, Palliser Bay, are spending a -holiday with Mrs A. Rendle. Mrs Hodder, of Kimbolton, who has been visiting Mrs T. M. Harvey, Mangatete, has returned home. Mr and Mrs Jaquery . (Wanganui) are the guests of Mr and Mrs Playle, “Narvanna,” Kahutara.. Boxing. Six of the local boxing team will compete in the Hutt Valley championships next week.
