TENSION IN POLAND
PEASANTS PRESSING DEMANDS government criticised HOPES OF COMPROMISE By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Recd This Day, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON. August 29. The “Times’s” Warsaw correspondent says the Peasant Party's executive has issued a proclamation declaring that political tension in Poland, especially among the peasants, has reached a high point owing to the Government’s disregard of their moderate demands, which is exhausting patience. It is added that the executive has summoned the party Great Council. It is notable that subordinate officials prohibited the publication of the manifesto, but the President cancelled the prohibition, arcusing hopes of a Government compromise.
