ANOTHER CHANNEL SWIM
LONDON GARDENER’S FEAT LONDON, August 29. A Battersea Park gardener, Fernely Wheatcroft, aged 42, swam the Channel from Cape Gris Nez today. He reached the coast between Dover and Folkestone, his time being 13 hours 37 minutes. Wheatcroft learned to swim in 1934. He abandoned an attempt last July.
