ACTIVITIES OF SETTLEMENT ASSOCIATION. ROTARY CLUBS ASSISTING. i_ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The organising committee of the Dominion Settlement Association has presented its report showing that considerable progress has been made in the campaign now being conducted and intended to cover the whole Dominion during the next two months. In furtherance of resolutions passed by the Dominion conference of Rotary held in February last, the Rotary clubs throughout New Zealand are acting as conveners of public meetings on migration addressed by speakers appointed by the Dominion Settlement Association. During the past month very successful meetings have been held in Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamar'u, Dunedin, Invercargill and Palmerston North. Following these meetings, representative committees of leading citizens were elected to prosecute an intensive campaign in each district. During the next two weeks it is intended to hold meetings at Masterton, Pahiatua, Dannevirke, Waipukurau, Waipawa, Hastings and Napier. Mr Alan C. Browne, F.R.G.S., has been commissioned by the association to lecture throughout England and Scotland on the potentialities of the Dominion. This is made necessary by the altered conditions whereby migrants are less anxious nowadays to leave the Mother Country and settle overseas.
