CARROTS FOR PIGS
EXPERIMENTS IN POLAND. According to a Polish investigation, the feeding of carrots rich' in vitamins to breeding sows and young pigs resulted in the disappearance of diseases of the intestines and lungs. Fewerweak young pigs were produced and mortality among the young was lower.
From the 40th day of age, young pigs were gradually accustomed to the consumption of grated carrots as a supplement.
