LONDON QUOTATIONS. BUTTER AND CHEESE FIRM. The London butter market was firm last week, according to the report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board. New Zealand butter was quoted on Friday at 121 s a cwt., a rise of Is on the week. Friday's closing quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: Salted, 121 s (120 s a year ago 116 s); unsalted, 121 s to 122 s (121 s to 1225, a year ago 117 s to 118 s). Australian: Salted, 116 s, 117 s to 118 s (115 s to 116 s); unsalted, 117 s to 118 s (116 s to 117 s). Danish: 115 s f.0.b.: 136 s to 137 s spot (109 s to 110s,'130s to 131 s). Dutch: Unsalted, 109 s to 110 s, ex. 112 s (108 s to 109 s). Lithuanian: Unsalted, 112 s (110 s The retail price of Danish butter advanced to Is 4d, that of New Zealand butter being unchanged at Is 3d. Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week were 1545 tons. The quantity in store was 5138 tons, as against 7293 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter were 899 tons, the quantity in store being 4364 tons, as against 3796 tons a year ago. The cheese market was firm, New Zealand showing an advance of Is a cwt. on the week. Friday’s closing prices, with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows:— New Zealand: White and coloured, 72s fid to 73s (71s 6d to 725, a year ago, white 68s to 695, coloured 67s 6d to 695). Australian: White and coloured, 68s to 70s (68s to 70s). Canadian: White and coloured, 78s to 80s (78s’to 80s); c.i.f., 69s 6d (695). English: Finest farmers', 86s to 88s (84s to 86s); factory cheese, 66s (65s to 665). Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week were 13,939 crates. The quantity in store was 54,381 crates, as against 59,165 crates a year ago. Deliveries of Canadian cheese were 5147 boxes, the quantity in store being 97,690 boxes, as against 119,822 boxes a year ago.
