WAIRARAPA ELECTORATE

CAMPAIGN FOR SITTING MEMBER ADDRESS BY MR ROBERTS (“Times-Age” Special). A meeting was held last evening in Carterton of about 60 supporters of Mr B. Roberts, . M.P., for the Wairarapa electorate. ■ Mr Roberts addressed the meeting at some length outlining the aim of the Labour Party, and was given an attentive hearing. A resolution was carried “that all present constitute a committee to assist Mr Robert’s candidature and return.” Eleven cars were offered for use on election day and an app'eal was made for further social functions to be organised to raise funds for the campaign. It was reported that Mr J. A. Lee, M.P., Parliamentary Under-Secretary, will address a political meeting in Carterton next week in support of Mr Roberts.
