TILED FLOORS

Linseed oil is excellent for polishing tiled floors. Clean the tiles first with warm soapy water; When they are thoroughly dry apply the oil with a piece of silk and polish in the usual way. Wash red tiles with thin starch water after washing and drying them in the usual way, and they will have a slightly glazed appearance and a better colour. Starch left over from laundry work will do if it is diluted sufficiently.
