BRITISH OFFICIAL KILLED IN PALESTINE RETRIBUTION OVERTAKES MURDERER HAIFA, August 24. Mr W. S. Moffatt, Assistant Commissioner at Jenin, was dangerously wounded by a terrorist as he entered his office today. He was fired at pointblank, and six bullets entered his body. A later message reports that Mr Moffatt succumbed to his injuries. A hunchback Arab, since identified as the murderer, of Mr Moffatt, was fatally shot when attempting to escape from a military camp.
