LATE MR E. WELCH

BODY FOUND BY NEPHEW POST-MORTEM EXAMINATION HELD The discovery of the body of Mr Edward Welch, of Lansdowne, early yesterday afternoon was made by Mr Ken Welch, a nephew, in the middle of a flax swamp near Opaki Road, just beyond the borough boundary. When found, the head and face were immersed in water. Mr Ken Welch immediately notified the police, and the body was removed to the morgue. The late Mr Welch had disappeared from his home on Tuesday morning. A post-mortem examination was held this morning. The inquest was opened this afternoon for the taking of evidence of identification and adjourned sine die.
