WELLINGTON CATHEDRAL
MASTERTON CITIZENS’ APPEAL. GOOD RESPONSE RECORDED. A.t a recent meeting of the Masterton Citizens’ Committee set up to further the Wellington Cathedral project, presided over by the Mayor (Mr T. Jordan), arrangements were made for the active carrying out of the campaign. As a start members of the committee decided to announce their individual contributions, whereupon members made promises which amounted to the splendid total of £1,090 10s, made up as follows: —Two of £200; two of £100; three of £5O; ten of £25; two of £2O; one of £l5; one of £lO 10s; two of £10; one of £5. Other donations and promises including one of £l,OOO one of £250; two of £100; two of £3O; one or £l5; one of £lO 10s bring the total of the combined centenary fund .from Masterton and district to £2,703. Now that the campaign has been so well launched the Citizens’ Committee ask for the wholehearted support of all interested in the provision of a great and worthy Cathedral in the centre of the national life of the Dominion.
