M. DALADIER’S PROPOSALS. PROVISION FOR OVERTIME IN SOME INDUSTRIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Copyright. / LONDON, August 24. It is understood that the Premier, M. Daladjer, does not intend to lengthen the working week in all industries, says the Paris correspondent of “The Times.” Industries which are at present working less than a 40-hour week because of the absence of orders, or which can obtain extra labour without difficulty, will not be allowed to work more’ than 40 hours, but, if new labour >s not obtainable and if orders cannot be executed because of the restrictive effects of the 40-hour week, authority will be given to work 48 hours at an overtime rate of 10 per cent above the normal.
