MAORIS BEATEN

FIJI WINS SECOND TEST. FAST AND OPEN GAME. SUVA, August 24. In a game which was fast and open despite the greasy ground, Fiji defeated the touring Maori Rugby football team in the second Test by 11 5 (two tries and a converted try to a converted try). Steele played a fine game and scored from a passing movement in which all the backs handled. The Maoris showed improved form. They repeatedly attempted to open up the game, but deadly tackling nullified most of the movements. The forwards were very even, but the Fijians were much faster in the loose.
