Y.M.C.A.

LADIES’ AUXILIARY. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary was held yesterday. The president (Mrs G. R. Beecroft) presided. At the opening of the meeting reference was made to the death of Mrs Moor. Mrs Moo/ was a life member of the Auxiliary and had for a number of years been its treasurer. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives. A report given of the Juvenile Concert held during the month stated that it had been a splendid success and that the Auxiliary was gratified with the result. On the motion of Mrs M. G. Mackay a vote of appreciation was accorded the president, Mrs Beecroft, Mrs Perry and the general secretary for their work in organising the concert. Arrangements were made for the Mother and Daughter tea which it was decided to hold on Wednesday, September 14. A programme committee was appointed and catering and decorating attended to. It was decided to hold a “bring and buy” function in connection with the regular monthly meetings of the Auxiliary. A discussion took place on the holding of a sale of work before the end of the year, but it was decided to plan for a garden party in the New Year. At the conclusion of the business Mesdames Kilgour, Kerr and Blinkhome entertained the Auxiliary to afternoon tea.
