CRIME IN PALESTINE
STATISTICS OF CASUALTIES THOUSAND KILLED OR INJURED SINCE JULY 1. YOUNG JEWESS BEING TRIED ON CAPITAL CHARGE. (Recd This Day, 12.20 p.m.) JERUSALEM, August 22. A Jewess, Rachael Koka, aged 'twelve, is being tried by a military court on the capital charge of carrying a bomb. Further outrages which have occurred throughout Palestine include a Post Office hold-up, an attempt to blow up the Haifa mail train and attacks on a bus and cart in which Jewish workers were returning home. The Palestine “Post”” publishes the following statistics of casualties in August:— Killed: Fifteen British people, 41 Jews and 110 Arabs. Wounded: Twenty-six Britons, 86 Jews and 71 Arabs. The total casualties since July 1 are estimated at over a thousand.
