THE PRIME MINISTER
MAKING GOOD RECOVERY (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 22. Offers from complete strangers in Auckland of a room in their houses while he is recuperating from the indisposition which he suffered at the weekend were received today by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon M. J. Savage. Further improvement in Mr Savage’s health was reported and his doctor, after a further examination, expressed himself so well satisfied with his recovery that he is to be allowed to leave his bed for a period tomorrow. He will remain in Auckland until the weekend. Although unable to accept offers made him' of a comfortable room and whatever special nursing might be required, Mr Savage was none the less grateful for them. He also appreciated the flowers with which his bedroom at the Hotel Cargen is filled and messages totalling several hundreds received by telegram and telephone, as well as through personal calls at the hotel. The mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, called on Mr Savage today.
