The importance of having a connection between high schools and adult educational organisations was mentioned by the rector of the Waimate High School( Mr M. Leadbetter) at a meeting of the board of governors of the school. “I have been interested to receive during the last three weeks a recently published book on adult education in the United States a countiy leading the world in this,” said Mr Leadbetter. “In this book it is made perfectly clear that their conception is the same as ours in regarding the high schools as the logical centre of educational activity in the community.”
