LANSDOWNE SCHOOL

IMPROVEMENTS TO GROUNDS MEETING OF COMMITTEE Considerable improvements are being effected to the Lansdowne School grounds now that the erection of a new building is under way. An extra man has been engaged to carry out various work. Twelve seats have been erected on the playing area, which is to be harrowed and rolled, and a hedge is being planted along the Te Ore Ore Road boundary. At the last meeting of the committee, over which Mr H. E. Pither presided, it was reported that the present roll number was 222, and the average attendance 190.7 Miss A. Hutchinson had resigned from the staff to take up a position under the Taranaki Education Board. Arbor Day was celebrated by the planting of six trees in the plantation bordering the Hospital Road. Messrs Dagg and McGregor were appointed the visiting committee for the month. Accounts totalling £22 2s 8d were passed.
