LONDON QUOTATIONS. BUTTER MARKET STEADIER. The London butter market was steadier at the end of last week, says the cabled report supplied by the Primary Products Marketing Department to the Dairy Board. Friday’s closing quotations, with those for the previous week in parentheses, were as follows:— New Zealand: Salted, 120 s (121 s a year ago, 114 s to 115 s); unsalted, 121 s to 122 s (121 s to 1225; a year ago, 115 s to 117 s). Australian: Salted, 115 s to 116 s (117 s to 118 s); unsalted, 116 s to 117 s (118 s to 110 s). Danish: 109 s to 110 s f.0.b., 130 s to 131 s spot (106 s 126 s to 1275). Dutch: Unsalted, 108 s to 109 s, ex Ills (107 s to 108 s). Lithuanian: Unsalted, 110 s (Ills). Retail prices were unchanged, New Zealand and Danish at Is 3d a lb. Deliveries of New • Zealand butter last week were 1408 tons. The quantity in store was 6670 tons, as against 5936 tons a year ago. Deliveries of Australian butter were 988 tons, the quantity iri store being 4748 tons, as against 4433 tons a year ago. The Imperial Economic Committee estimates stocks of all butters in store at 1,418,678 boxes, as against 934,099 boxes a year ago. The cheese market was firm last week. Friday’s quotations; with those of the previous week in parentheses, were as follows: — New Zealand: . Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week were 15,029 crates the quantity in store was 66,844 crates, as against 47,463 crates a year ago. Deliveries of Canadian cheese were 3706 boxes, the quantity remaining in store being 89,890 boxes, as against 117,969 boxes a year ago.
