GUIDERS’ COURSE

GATHERING AT ST MATTHEW’S SCHOOL. A refresher course is at present being held at St Matthew’s School for experienced Guiders, who include captains, lieutenants, brown owls and tawny owls. About thirty Guiders from all parts of New Zealand are attending the course, which is in charge of Miss Knight, a diploma Guider from England, who has been in New Zealand for several months conducting refresher courses in different parts of the Dominion. Miss Knight returns to England next month. Miss R. Herrick, Chief Commissioner for New Zealand is also attending the course, which will continue until Saturday. Mrs T. Jordan, District Commissioner, welcomed the members'of the first party on their arrival from Auckland yesterday morning.
