DRUIDS’ LODGE

QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly summoned meeting of the Druids’ lodge was held in the Fortsers’ Hall last night, the A.D., Bro A. E. Levick presiding. Reports were received on a recent meeting of the U.F.S. Dispensary Board. Several members reported having had a very enjoyable game of bowls with the Foresters’ Lodge, the result having been a draw. Bro A. E. Levick reported that he had represented the lodge at the Hibernian Lodge Jubilee celebrations, and stated the function had been a very enjoyable one. The secretary presented the halfyearly returns and balance sheet. The various funds show that the lodge is in a good position and making steady progress. Nine brethren declared on the sick benefit of the lodge were reported to be progressing favourably. Sick pay and accounts ammounting to £4l 9s were passed for payment. Bro F. S. Clarke reported that the Masterton Friendly Societies would play the Eketahuna Friendly Societies on Saturday night in the Odd Fellows’ Hall. An interesting discussion on the National Health scheme. took place and eventually a committee was appointed to go into the matter and report to the next meeting of the lodge.
