KEROSENE EXPLODES
CHILD DIES FROM BURNS. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WHANGAREI, August 22. When a Maori child, a daughter of Mrs Pataua Manukau, of Hukatere, was lighting a fire a bottle of kerosene which she was using exploded. Her clothes were saturated with the spirit, which caught fire and burned her so badly that she died in Te Kopuru hospital.
