JEFFREY CUP (“Times-Age” Special.) The match played yesterday between Cross Creek and Featherston ended in a draw, each side scoring 9 points. Cross Creek retain the cup. The game was fast and interesting. Mr Les Smith was the referee. HORSE KILLED BY MOTOR CAR On Friday night, Mr R. Buick of Kahautara was proceeding home in his motor when he collided with a horse on the road at Kahautara. The animal (a draught) was killed. The car was considerably damaged. COURSE OF TRAINING There are a number of officers and N.C.O.’s in Featherston undergoing a course of training and study. MISSIONARY ADDRESS Mr Barton, a missionary from Ethiopia, gave addresses on Abyssinia, at the Matins and family service in St John’s Church yesterday, and also at the Presbyterian and Waiorongomai churches. Mr Barton is the guest of, the Rev R. S. and Mrs Keenan at the Manse. GOLF CLUB COMPETITION. The following were the best cards handed in, for the Stableford competition held on Saturday afternoon:- —W. Fountain, score 30, handicap 7, total 37; H. Blbxam, 27, 10, 37;<G. O’Neale, 26, 6, 32; W. Rowles, 28, 2, 30; J. W. Card, 15, 15, 30; T. Lang, 19, 11, 30.
