OFFER TO BRADMAN
ADVISER TO SPORTS SOCIETY ACCEPTANCE CONSIDERED LIKELY LONDON, August 19. The “Daily Mirror” reports that Don Bradman is considering a definite offer of £5O a week to act in an advisory capacity ' to the Sports Investors Society, Limited, a firm of London bookmakers, who are reported to have entertained Bradman at a West End hotel. It is expected that he will meet the directors of the company after the fifth Test match. Mr G. Samuel, of the Sports Investors Society, told the “Star” that there is every possibility that Bradman will return to England after completing his Australian contract to accept the society’s offer. Mr Samuel explains that the society, which is a co-operative betting organisation, hopes to arrange sports tours of England, and also to send teams abroad, the clients sharing in the profits. Naturally, it would be a good thing to have a world figure such as Bradman at the head of the organisation.
