BARROW MARATHON
EFFORT BY TWO AUSTRALIAN BROTHERS. HOPES OF WINNING £2OOO WAGER. SYDNEY, August 19. A marathon wheelbarrow-pushing feat from Adelaide to Sydney ends about tomorrow, when the Alexander brothers, of Victoria, hope to collect a wager of £2OOO. Alex Alexander is pushing his brother Henry, who weighs 12 stone, from Adelaide to Sydney, 1104 miles, in ten weeks, and the trip is likely to be accomplished with a week in hand. The pair were 25 miles outside Sydney this afternoon, and are due at the city post office at noon tomorrow. Alex has lost over three stone, and has worn out 11 pairs of shoes during the journey.
