WEDDING

CAMERON-STEPHENS. (“Times-Age" Special.) A quiet wedding took place at St Mary’s Church, Carterton, this morning at 9 o’clock, the contracting parties being Miss Sarah Stephens, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Stephens, of Motueka, and William John Cameron, of Motueka, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cameron, of Edinburgh, Scotland. The ceremony and nuptial mass were conducted by the Rev. Father Carmine and the Cum Jubilo Mass was sung by the Children’s Choir, also a marriage hymn composed by Dr Walsh. During the mass “Ave Maria” was sweetly sung by Misses Pat Newbould and Maureen O’Reilly. The bride was dressed in a frock of bridal satin, and her bridesmaid, Miss Edna Newbould, wore a gown of heliotrope net over satin and carried a bouquet to tone. Mr R. J. Fisher, of Carterton, was best man. The wedding breakfast was held at St. Mary’s Presbytery, only immediate friends being present. Toasts appropriate to the occasion were enthusiastically honoured. Mr and Mrs W. J. Cameron left later for the south, the bride travelling in an Air Force blue tailored costume with hat and accessories to tone. They will take up their residence at Motueka.
