N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd report:—A good yarding of dairy stock and pigs came forward at Eketahuna on Thursday and was submitted to a fair attendance. Best cows and heifers close to profit, were in keen demand and made excellent prices. Included in our entry was the specially advertised herd of cows on account of A. and E. Bicknell, and the best sorts from this consignment realised from £lO 5s to £l2. Best cows in milk also readily sold at prices up to £9 ss. Weaner pigs, of which there was a fair entry, were keenly competed for and realised good prices. We quote:— Cattle; Dairy cows, on drop, best, £l2, £ll, £lO ss, to £9 10s; others £8 15s, £8 5s to £7 15s; late calvers, £7 2s 6d, £6 15s, £6 2s 6d to £5 15s; cows in milk, best, £9 ss, £8 15s, to £8; others, £7 ss, £6 10s to £6; yearling heifers (small, low condition), £2 to £2 10s. Pigs: Weaners best, 20s 6d, 19s 6d; small, 18s to 19s; yearling colt, £B. Sundries, Fowls, 5s each; huntaway pups, 22s 6d, 10s, 7s 6d.
