LATE MRS HOGG
FUNERAL IN MASTERTON YESTERDAY There was a large and representative attendance at the funeral yesterday of the late Mrs B. Hogg, widow of the Hon A. W. Hogg, former member for Masterton. Among the many beautiful wreaths in evidence were those from the following:—Office staff of Masterton Borough Council, Masterton Public Trust Office, Masterton branch of the Women Teachers' Association, teachers of Masterton West and Side Schools, and pupils of West Side School. Telegrams and messages of sympathy were received from all over New Zealand, including one from the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon M. J. Savage, and one from Mr J. Robertson, M.P. The chief mourners were Messrs A. E. Wainwright, of Patea, and J. L. Murray, Masterton. The Rev John Davie officiated at the residence and at the cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. W. Andrews (Lower Hutt), W. Workman (Greytown) and W. King and C. S. Hay, of Masterton. Among those present was Mr T. S. Arcus, Chief of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society.
